How to Eliminate Time Wasters

More often than not we can find ourselves asking “Where did the day go?”. Between taking the kids to school, attending meetings, making deadlines at work, getting dinner ready, or making it to our friends game night, we find little time left to check things off our to-do list. You might find yourself looking at other people in your life and wondering “How do they get it all done?”. But, the reality is, we all have the same 24 hours in a day and some people have learned how to make the most of each and every hour. Don’t worry, we’re here to help you do the same!

There are several things you can do to help identify and eliminate the time wasters in your life. Once you do this, you will find yourself having more free time to get things done that really matter to you. Because at the end of the day, we’d all love to have some extra time to spend with family, friends, or even just by ourselves! So, let’s figure out how to make that happen…

  • Stop procrastinating! We know, easier said than done. But, it is possible! Whether it be mindlessly scrolling through social media, organizing the coat closet for the hundredth time, or taking an extra 15 minutes in the shower simply because you don’t want to do whatever it is that’s been looming over you for days. The moment you decide you’re going to stop wasting your time with menial tasks you will find yourself being more productive and feeling less stressed about your growing to-do list.
  • Value your time and expect others to do the same. We’ve all found ourselves chatting with a co-worker in the breakroom and then checking the time and realizing, “My lunch hour is already over?!”. Or having a meeting that has already run long yet you haven’t even gotten through all of the items on the agenda. Understandably, this will happen from time to time but the more frequently it happens the more behind we get. Don’t be afraid to tell someone “Hey, I’d love to catch up more later but right now I really need to get this project done” or “Can we put a pin in this conversation and get back to the items on the agenda?”. By doing this you are showing you not only value your own time but also the time of the people around you.
  • Eliminate distractions. How many times a day do you pick up your phone and scroll through social media? Or, how many episodes of Netflix have you watched this week? These habits aren’t necessarily bad habits but it all depends on how much we let ourselves indulge. If you’re scrolling through TikTok and you realize 30 minutes have already passed or you’re on your third episode of your favorite true crime show, yet you find yourself wondering where all your time has gone, we have the answer. Distractions are a part of everyone’s lives and as soon as you begin to eliminate yours you will find more time for the things that truly matter.

At the end of the day, we all have the same 24 hours and it is up to each individual to make the most of their time. Connect with a Moxifit clinic today to learn valuable time saving tools for meal prepping, meal planning, and so much more!
